Just for fun: Music trivia

I am in the mood for trivia and there is a payoff. If you are the winner, you can have one of anything I make (music CD, talk CD, DVD, etc.).

Name the drummer for the theme music track from the DVD I Do Exist. Hint: He was also the original drummer for the band who did the song "Take My Breath Away" from Top Gun.

Post your answer and email it as well to me. First right answer wins.

Silo Rains on Penguin Pride Parade

Silo and Roy have split up. After 6 years of same sex relationship bliss, Silo has become ex-gay. Reached for comment earlier today, Silo insistes he was not pressured into his new identity. He denies rumors that he has been hired by Focus on the Family to begin a zoo ministry among gay penguins. No word on custody arrangements for their adopted daughter Tango. Silo's ex, Roy, has refused all requests for interviews. Reportedly, he is considering a request from Vanity Fair for an exclusive story. Stay tuned...

Advanced look at article to be published in December, 2005

Here is a pre-publication copy of a study to be published in the Journal of Psychology and Christianity, Winter, 2005.

I had originally planned to do a follow up on this study but I cannot locate all of the participants. Instead, I am collecting data regarding those who once sought change and will follow them for 5-10 years. This will include those who consider themselves ex-ex-gay as well as ex-gay.

What will Arnold do?

California's legislature passed a gay marriage bill. Will the Governator veto, sign it, or allow it to become law?

Even young kids are influenced by parents/media.

Media and parental influence conspire to influence children. Nice to have the support of research on this point but it seems to me to be an obvious proposition.

Rehnquist dies

An era has passed. Rehnquist's death will focus even more attention to the Roberts nomination. As if the President did not have enough on his plate. Susan (the voice) Estrich said on Fox that she thinks Bush will nominate a moderate since he has been weakened by Katrina. I doubt it.

Reader email...

The following email received 8/31 was refreshing. It is reproduced with the permission of the sender.

I'm sure you have found many in the gay community who take issue with your writings and stance on issues of sexuality. However, as a self-identifying gay man, I want to commend you on your site, www.drthrockmorton.com, which I visited for the first time today. While I do not agree with your views personally and have no desire to alter my own orientation, I think that every person should be able to make their own decision free from extreme bias or pressure from either side of the issue. I get quite upset when gay leaders lash out at persons such as yourself, when it is clear that you are simply presenting a view that is as valid as any other. Those of us truly comfortable in identifying as gay don't feel threatened by your work. I have a very happy and fulfilling life with my gay partner, and if sexual orientation is safely changeable, than why not be happy for those who want to change and encourage them to change safely with the assistance of a qualified professional? If a person freely seeks that out, what is wrong with that? After all, the gay community is more than happy to welcome a person who lived in heterosexual relations, some married for years, who then "come out" as gay. It would be hypocritical to disapprove of a welcoming community for those who decide to "come out" as straight.
